We've Got Answers is a podcast-style listen intended to present a comfortable space to ask (and have expertly answered) uncomfortable questions about race in the U.S.
WGQ is the brainchild of Charlemagne Tha God, one of today’s most popular media personalities /and contemporary provocateurs, who poses that Black and White race relations are strained and misunderstood because White people aren’t asking the right questions.
CTG, along with James Altucher work together to bring the right questions to a panel of cultural critics, activists and thought leaders who can provide factual — and entertaining! — answers for all of us.
Welcome to WGA your everyday, ‘round the corner, bodega. Here you’ll find the familiar sounds and sights: thumping, yet low-key music, cats lounging about, and an out of order ATM in the corner. But, unlike most bodegas WGA isn’t stocked with common goods:
WE’VE GOT ANSWERS is stocked with knowledge. And, Char, running shop behind the counter, seamlessly connects every customer with exactly what they came in for. In this spot a steady flow of white people approach Char as if they’re asking for batteries or need help locating olive oil.
In this high-energy, shoot-based concept, imagine a town hall meeting on race… and then Char steps up to speak. Char will talk directly to camera, describing who the “We” is in “We’ve Got Answers.”
At different moments throughout his speech, we will cut to different images and footage of people, faces, places, and moments that directly speak to what Char is expressing. At the end of his reading, he will say something like, “We’ve got answers,” with text underneath that reads, “Individual questions. Collective truth."
